A school for little children has to be
special and equipped with all special things. You must understand that the
parents need to feel that your school is a safe place, as safe their homes.
There should be a few things which you need to keep in your mind. To start
with, there should be no sharp things in the school. Even the furniture should
have round edges. Scissors and other sharp equipment need to be kept far away
from the reach of the children. There should be first aid box handy and also
you should be capable of giving first aid and also CPR.

‘circle time’ is necessary:
A great and a classic time is a must have
for such a preschool.
The children should get to do their favorite activities together under the
watchful eyes of yours of course. There are a lot of things which has to be
incorporated into this ‘circle time’. It should make them feel relaxed to the
extent of the shyest ones too starting to talk and taking part with other
children. There are instances of girls or boys who are very shy and would not
get involved with other kids. But they can come out of their shell during the
‘circle time’. They may open themselves up to you telling what they love to eat
or what stories they love to hear again and again. You can read out these
stories to those kids as well as to others. Slowly they will gain faith in you
and will love their surroundings. You can so almost any activity in the ‘circle
time’, singing, elocution, telling what one did last night, or try some
activities, some games which are popular among all. With these, the wall
between you and the kids will break down and they will find it nice to spend
time with you.
At
the time of setting up the school you need to make sure that you have a space
in the school for all the crafts, arts and other supplies which you may need.
It must be remembered that children of every age love to try these crafts and
it is good too as it sparks their creativity. You can have a special craft
class after the school hours, but it needn’t be every day. It could be on
Wednesdays and Fridays for instance. Your little peers are surely going to love
it. You will of course need some materials like crayons, clay, plasticine,
pencils, paints, glitter, glue, papers for the purpose of construction, beads,
foam shapes and more. There are a number of other things that you can get apart
from these. You can get these crafts things at different shops in the market.
You can also ask the parents for small food jars for the kids and also toilet
and paper towels for the children. There are special days which you can arrange
like the theme days. Suppose its summer and the Olympics are going on, you can
have the sport festival help in a small and rather cute way in your child care
school.
