After the birth of our little ones, we make a strict decision of raising them in the best manner that is affordable for us. This is the responsibility which requires us to make choices for them and one of the important choices that we make for them is for their education. There are a number of schools there for your child on the basis of the age of your child. But when you are thinking of educating your child who was just an infant sometime back, it is better to look for a school which takes care of it and teaches it as well. There are such schools available in the United States and also in other parts of the world.

Even in UK there are these daycare schools. The process of education is on the basis of a school program which is perfectly suitable for the tender minds. In these western parts of the world, you will find there are these schools along with the elementary and also the high schools. Of course, nowadays this has become common and even the Asian countries have adopted this method.

How this program began?

This program was founded by a lady named Maria Montessori, who graduated from medicine from the University of Rome, and in those days she was the first woman to ever graduate in that subject. Then she started to work with the mentally retarded children and afterwards also served in many university programs for teaching positions. Later in 1907, she started with a school named Casa dei Bambini and there she taught children with her methods which she developed from researching in philosophy and child development. All her life she had been teaching various such methods, writing and lecturing about these methods. This is how the concept of special schools for children or the concept of preschool came into existence.

The principal goal of such a school is to provide with an environment which is stimulating and meant only for the children. No individual is of the same intellect and this is right since the childhood stage in man’s life. Thus, children in such a school will learn things at their own individual pace. The teachers here are understanding and, nurturing and encouraging. They enable the child to enjoy learning and feel happy about him or herself in life. It is one stage in life where self-esteem is developed and self-confidence is boosted which later comes to help in many situations in life.

For instance, here the children are never expected to have any standard of achievements conformed as it is in case of other schools. The teachers here take in to account all the needs, talents, specialty and gifts of each child. The children are allowed to learn at their own pace and are never constrained or rebuked for anything that they do. They get complete freedom and this makes the entire learning process full of fun and enjoyment.
